Our Level 2 Intermediate, Front Crawl clinic is designed for swimmers who want to progress from the Front Crawl, Level 1 Basics course and further enhance their skills to promote more efficient and faster swimming. We start with a refresher of the basics and quickly move in to the latest innovative training techniques to improve your technique and speed. We recommend that you augment our sessions with a swim practice at least once a week in order to benefit from both our technique and your regular aerobic conditioning. Pre-requisite: This is intended to be an intermediate level swim program. You must be able to swim 200 metres of front crawl (arms recovering over the water, breathing to the side) non-stop in order to benefit from the sets we will assign you. This is a progression of the Front Crawl Level 1, Basics course we offer.

Objectives: Focus on stroke improvement, power, and aerobic swimming. Tailor drills to improve your technique and make you swim longer, easier.

Equipment: We will use swimmer’s fins (shorter than scuba fins). You can purchase them at AquaSport on Iris Road near Ikea.

Location: Held either at Brewer Pool (other side of Bronson Ave from Carleton University) or occassionally at JCC pool (Carling/Queensway area)

Dates: The following sessions are available. Due to this program's popularity, we will contact you when other dates become available.

Other info: We recommend that you augment these stroke technique lessons with regular lap swimming at least once a week. This way, you will benefit from the drills and allows you the opportunity to further hone your swimming skills.

Option: At the end of the session, there will be an option to pay for another semi-private lessons OR if you’re ready and provided there is room …join our swimottawa Masters group that trains indoors Sept-May and outdoors June-August.
